Hello! I’m Benrob0329, and this is my space online. I do things, and occasionally I’ll post about them.
Often awkward, always aloof, and sometimes anxious. I lurk more than I speak in many spaces, but if I start talking you might want to tell me to shut up before I ramble on for an hour about something I find interesting.
Yes, I like bullet lists. No, I didn’t get them from ChatGPT. In fact, I don’t use LLMs at all and I avoid projects that do.
I play TTRPGs, mostly D&D 5e or my own homebrew. I’ve spent the past 5 years working on my current system, and most of that time was learning what not to do.
I also play video games, and especially like concise, replayable campaigns. I especially love the Portal games, but also the Half-Life series, classic DOOM, and SM64.
I’ve daily driven Linux in various forms since 2014, with some dabbling before then. I currently use Arch (archinstall makes this so much easier) with KDE Plasma. I’ve never gotten a *BSD system setup in a way that I liked.
I’m midwestern raised, leftist, and atheist. I was also raised in and came out of fundamentalist christianity. Sometimes I talk about my experiences there, but I’ll always and forever be trying to heal from it. Sometimes I still find pieces of it lodged in the way I think or judge things.
